Add Neutrals

The Chic Minimalist

“Neutral-toned dressing is anything but boring.”

I love creating monochrome looks by layering neutral shades with textures or prints to elevate my chic, minimalistic wardrobe.

Femme Luxe’s black utility cargo jacket added a militaristic edge to my neutral-hued monochrome look. Femme Luxe’s wide-leg, bardot jumpsuit paired with the same utility cargo jacket provided a unique mixture of texture.

An all-white look is equally chic.

For example, this effortless Femme Luxe white, ribbed, high-neck, body-con, midi dress styled with my favorite statement accessories: black sunglasses, pumps, and Femme Luxe’s bum bag.

If you interested in simplifying your everyday look but, you are not ready to give up colors. Try bolder colors such as camel and rust. While they're still neutrals, they'll naturally stand out.

Have you ever mistaken a navy blue garment to a black garment, in low lighting?

While using a minimalistic approach to modify my everyday look, I’ve learned that it is difficult to tell the difference between navy blue and black. Therefore, when adding neutrals to an outfit, I try to stick with the color spectrum of white, beige, grey, black or navy blue. I also keep in mind that dark fabrics recede and make my figure look thinner, and light fabrics make my figure look bigger.
